JOB DESCRIPTION: WAREHOUSE HELPERSREPORTS TO: Warehouse ManagerREPORTING POSITIONS: N/AJOB OBJECTIVE:To assist the warehouse manager in day-to-day operations involving a variety of maintenance procedures on building, and equipment assets owned by Central Plumbing, Heating, Excavation (Central). Duties also include delivery of equipment to designated project sites in a safe and responsible manner.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Freight:* Unload all incoming freight and check it in to the shop.* Tagging the freight for the proper jobsite and putting it in the holding areas.* Restocking all shop stock inventory, plumbing & sheet metal.* Complete familiarity with both material receiving and material return policies and assist warehouse supervisor with these tasks.Shop and Warehouse Maintenance as follows:All general cleaning of the shop, warehouse and yard facilities.Some of this work can be delegated to the runners, but it is the sole responsibility of the warehouse person to get it done.General Shop responsibilities as follows:* Take garbage out* Clean shop bathrooms daily* Floors to office entry swept* Time room cleaned and organized weekly* Warehouse/Shop cleaned and organized weekly* Yards are kept organized and garbage is kept to a minimum* Scrap bins in the tin shop recycled weekly* Laundry is kept up* Service bins are restocked* Stock orders checked in and put away* Pipe machines and oilers kept clean and serviced* Tool room kept clean and organized* Assist warehouse supervisor in tool room duties* Shop lock up procedures* Snow removalVehicle and Equipment Maintenance as follows:* Washing of all the company vehicles that remain in the shop* Small equipment repairs* Assist with maintenance of Central's vehicles and equipmentDelivery of small equipment to and from the job sites:* Man lifts* Bobcats* Mini-Excavators* Air Compressors* Welders* Etc.EDUCATION: High school graduate.EXPERIENCE: Familiarization with the City of Great Falls is required. Valid Driver license with good driving record is mandatory. Experience is helpful but not mandatory. Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle with backing up skills is also required.CLOTHING REQUIRED: Construction duty overalls, work clothing, leather boots, gloves and outdoors winter wear. Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.INTERPERSONAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Will need to establish good relations with all persons we are providing service to. Must be able to facilitate prompt resolution of problems and conflicts as they occur.ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS: Must be able to organize and sort tasks by priority. Be able to fill out paperwork for personal time sheets daily.PROBLEM SOLVING: Will need to provide solutions using acquired skills and be willing to ask for help and learn from others as needed.WORKING CONDITIONS: Most of your time will be spent outdoors working in shop yard and driving pickup truck with parts to job sites. Occasionally you will be needed to assist on jobsites temporarily.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Job requires the ability to lift and manipulate tools, sheet metal, materials weighing up to 100 lbs. without assistance as neededHAZARDS: Those normally associated with the construction industry.COMPENSATION/CAREER PATH: Commensurate with skill level and experience. Willing to pay top wages and benefits based on performance.WORK HOURS: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday.
