This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The payroll manager plays a crucial role in supporting the college's employees by providing exceptional service and maintaining the integrity of the payroll system.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPayroll Management: Oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Manage payroll schedules, deductions, and reporting.Compliance: Ensure compliance with all payroll related laws and regulations. Stay updated on changes in legislation and implement necessary adjustments.Employee Support: Provide support and guidance to employees regarding payroll inquiries. Resolve issues and ensure a high level of employee satisfaction.System Management: Maintain and update payroll systems. Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all records and reports.Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Associates degree in accounting, human resources, business or public administration, or related field.Three years relevant and recent experience in processing payroll and/or accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.Experience handling sensitive, confidential situations and information.Demonstrated experience in using payroll software and systems.Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting, human resources, business or public administration, or related field.Professional certification (e.g., CPP , CEBS ).Experience with higher education and/or a 2-year college.The Successful Candidate Will Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems, deal with issues and concerns in a positive and constructive manner.Excellent organizational skills and critical thinking skills in order to prioritize and manage several simultaneous projects, while maintaining accuracy.Analyze complex matters within the broader payroll and/or benefits context and provide integrated solutions.Attention to detail and accuracy.Special Requirements This position is not eligible for sponsorship.This job description should not be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements, but a general description of the job.
