Laundry attendant
RESPONSIBILITIES
· The laundry attendant maintains constant supply of clean linens for the hotel
· Performs all stages of linen processing including collecting, transporting, sorting loading, and unloading
· Cleans laundry machinery and laundry area
· Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly service-oriented manner
· Maintains regular attendance in compliance with Staybridge Suites standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards)
· Comply at all times with Staybridge suites standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
· Employees must be at all times friendly helpful and courteous to guests' managers, and fellow employees
· Understand operation of washing machines and dryers
· Wash, dry, and fold all dirty linens
· Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained
· Fold linens and stock carts and cart rooms as required
· Always practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests and fellow employees
· Sweep and mop laundry floors, store all linens off the floor.
· Be familiar with all Staybridge Suites policies and house rules
· Maintain a clean work area
· Attend meetings as required by management
· Perform any other duties as requested by management
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
· Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
· Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations
· Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
· Maybe required to perform tasks, which involve exposure to visible blood contamination or reasonably anticipated blood contamination.
· must be knowledgeable about OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standards, and must follow the required procedure for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood.
· Working in a hotel requires that you be available to work every day of the year, as the hotel never closes.
Physical Requirements:
· This position demands good physical and mental health.
· The Laundry Person will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, bend, reach, climb, push, pull, and fold.
· They must work a flexible schedule and be capable of performing tasks that require repetitive motions.
· The Laundry Person must be able to move continuously during work hours, stand for eight (8) hour periods, and must be able to lift and/or carry 50 pounds from the ground to above head level.
· The Laundry Person may be required to handle heavy loads without assistance and must be able to work in an environment that can be humid, hot, cold and damp.
