Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Biller/Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, with a passion for helping individuals in need of behavioral health services. This role is essential in ensuring that our operations run smoothly, enabling our clinical team to focus on delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Billing:
· Process and submit claims to insurance companies.
· Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing issues.
· Ensure accurate coding of procedures and diagnoses.
· Reconcile payments and maintain billing records.
Medical Assistance:
· Support clinical staff with patient care, including taking vitals and updating medical records.
· Prepare and manage patient documentation.
· Assist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
· Provide administrative support to ensure efficient office operations.
Compliance and Documentation:
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
· Accurately document patient interactions and treatments.
· Assist in maintaining a secure and organized medical records system.
Qualifications:
· Experience in medical billing, preferably in a behavioral health or nonprofit setting.
· Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification preferred.
· Strong understanding of insurance procedures, coding, and billing practices (Certified Coding Specialist preferred).
· Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
